The AR platform uses direct gas impingement to cycle, which means it’s important to use quality gas system parts to power the action. At the same time, you want to make sure the pieces you choose will fit under your handguard of choice.

Available Gas Block Styles and Diameters

Choosing the right gas block diameter is one of the first considerations when buying new gas parts. Many AR barrels measure .750 inches at the point of the gas port, and they often have a pronounced, larger-diameter shoulder for the block to butt against.

We sell .750 gas blocks in set screw, clamp-on and low-profile styles to provide different mounting options and handguard compatibility. We also have .875 and .936 gas blocks for heavier barrels. 

All options are available in black Nitromet, a hard, heat-resistant finish that works well for this application. The low-profile .750 gas block comes in NiB-X® nickel boron as well, affording extra ease of cleaning and protection against damage and corrosion.

Why Get an Adjustable Gas Block?

Some of our gas block designs are adjustable via set screw, allowing you fine control over the amount of gas routed back into the firearm’s receiver with each shot. Adjusting the gas affects recoil, brass throw and cycle timing. 

If you have any intention of adding a suppressor to your AR, an adjustable gas block is even more desirable. The suppressor will affect gas flow — as will switching from supersonic to subsonic ammunition — so the ability to alter the amount of gas to the receiver may be nonnegotiable to achieve the best performance. 

Gas Tube Length Options

The barrel you intend to use will determine how long you need your AR’s gas tube to be. We have all four lengths available:

• Rifle
• Mid
• Carbine
• Pistol

All of our gas tubes include a roll pin for assembly and are finished in deep black.
