AR-15 Barrels
AR-15 Barrels in Popular Calibers
With a gun as customizable as the AR-15, you want to have options. At WMD Guns, we’re here to offer them. We sell AR-15 barrels in the classic .223/5.56 NATO chambering as well as selections in .300 Blackout, 9mm Luger and .350 Legend.
Our Range of .223/5.56 AR Barrels for Sale
The .223 Remington cartridge was developed in response to the need for a new lightweight military rifle in the 1950s — the firearm that would become the AR-15. From this relationship came the 5.56×45mm NATO, a slightly heavier-duty version of the .223 Rem capable of withstanding more pressure while maintaining the same dimensions.
A barrel chambered for .223 can only shoot .223 ammunition, but a 5.56 barrel can handle either round. WMD Guns carries a selection of AR-15 barrels for sale chambered in 5.56 NATO — designated .223/5.56 — for shooters looking to make the most of both cartridges’ availability and accuracy.
Barrel Length and Gas System Options
The .223/5.56 is viable for several hundred yards, maintaining its efficacy on small to medium game out to 300 and working well for target shooting out to 600. Some shooters even stretch beyond that.
However, this round also excels in firearms intended for short-range applications. Fortunately, we sell 5.56 AR barrels in a range of lengths and gas system configurations so you can build a gun that fits your use case. Lengths we commonly stock include:
- 7.5”
- 10.5”
- 12.5”
- 16”
- 18”
Depending on the length you choose, you may have the option of a pistol-, carbine- or rifle-length gas setup. Different profiles are available as well, including the popular government profile that offers an excellent balance of light weight and rigidity.
Run Suppressor-Ready With a .300 BLK
The .300 AAC Blackout, also known as the .300 BLK or the 7.62×35 mm, is an unusual round that uses modified .223 Rem/5.56 NATO brass and holds a .30-caliber bullet. The cartridge combines lower velocity with impressive frontal area and stopping power, making it excellent for shorter-range shooting and use with a suppressor.
A .300 BLK barrel is a great starting point for a pistol, a compact rifle or an SBR. With those features in mind, we offer barrel lengths including:
- 7.5”
- 10.5”
- 16”
9mm AR Barrel Options
Since an AR-15 can be configured as a rifle, pistol or SBR (with the right paperwork), the platform readily lends itself to the 9mm Luger chambering. All you need is a 9mm receiver set or a standard lower with a few component updates to take advantage of this inexpensive, readily available cartridge.
As the 9mm Luger boasts impressive frontal area and stopping power with minimal risk of overpenetration, outfitting your AR with a 9mm barrel is a great way to build yourself a capable home defense solution.
We have several 9mm barrel lengths available to fit different applications:
- 5.5”
- 7.5”
- 10.5”
- 16”
Other AR-15 Barrels
If you live in a state that requires straight-walled cartridges for hunting, a .350 Legend barrel for your AR-15 could be the perfect solution. This capable round offers a flat trajectory out past 200 yards, ample terminal velocity and minimal recoil — all factors ideal for a lightweight, ergonomic hunting rifle.
We have 16- and 18-inch .350 Legend barrels available.

Nitrided Barrel Options With Nickel Boron Extensions
Many of the barrels we sell come coated with Nitromet™, a nitride treatment that affords 30% longer barrel life than a hard chrome lining.
You’ll also find AR-15 barrels with nickel boron barrel extensions for enhanced performance. Adding our proprietary, naturally slick NiB-X® coating to a barrel extension promotes smoother locking and unlocking to keep your rig running reliably.
WMD Guns nickel boron barrel extensions feature M4 feed ramps for fast, easy chambering, allowing your firearm to make the most of the coating’s lubricity and durability.
